Cornerhouse Student Deal, October 2014: Still the Enemy Within (2014) and The Way He Looks (2014)

In October 2014, Cornerhouse is staging two fantastic events:

Monday 6 October 2014, 6pm, Cornerhouse, Manchester Still the Enemy Within (2014) + Q&A with producer Mark Lacey and Cath Booth, supporter of Lesbians and Gays Support the Printworkers.

Still The Enemy Within

This film is a unique insight into one of history’s most dramatic events: the 1984-85 British Miners’ Strike. No experts. No politicians. Thirty years on, this is the raw first-hand experience of those who lived through Britain’s longest strike. Follow the highs and lows of that life-changing year in Owen Gower’s powerful documentary.

Cornerhouse has a number of limited tickets on offer to students for £4.50 for this event. To get the offer, students will need to buy from the Cornerhouse box office, either in person or over the phone quoting ‘ManUni Student Offer.’ The event will sell well so booking in advance is recommended. Students will need to bring their Manchester Uni ID when collecting/buying tickets.

This film is the feature-length debut from award-winning filmmaker Daniel Ribeiro, who won over 82 awards for his short film I Don’t Want to Go Back Alone. The film centres on Leonardo, a blind teenager trying to live an independent life whilst dealing with his overprotective mother. He plans to go on an exchange programme abroad, but his blossoming feelings for new student Gabriel make him question his plans to move away, much to the disappointment of his supportive best friend, Giovana.

Student tickets are on offer for this preview event for £4.50. These can be purchased by phone, online or in person. To use the coupon online, select Promo code from the booking screen and add the coupon ID: wayman. Click add, and the discount will be given. Alternatively, quote ‘wayman’ over the phone or in person at the box office for tickets. Students will need to bring their Manchester Uni ID when collecting/buying tickets.
