Event of Interest: Semiotic Analysis of Sexual Violence – Critical Discourses in the Academy

Critical Discourses in the Academy – Sexual Violence 15th May 2017

The third seminar of the Critical Discourses in the Academy seminar series, taking place Monday 15th May, 4-6pm, looks at sexual violence and power in university settings.

Speakers this time include:

Dr Anna Bull, Kings College London: Staff Sexual Misconduct in Higher Education: an issue of Power

Chryssa Sdrolia, Goldsmiths, University of London:  The Semiotics of Policy: The Power of an Impotent Narrative

Both speakers are associated with the 1752 Group, which is a UK-based research and lobby group working to end staff-to-student sexual misconduct in higher education.

The seminars are being supported by North West Doctoral Training Centre and ArtsMethods@Manchester, and are open to all and free to attend. Book early to ensure a place in this seminar!
